If you would like a sample of your work on the SHAL member web page please send the following to the webmaster via email:
A short biography (3-4 sentences about your history/experience and your work/medium)
Contact info (phone/email/address if you want)
If you have a website, the URL of that site.
An attached digital file of one piece of your art:

-- In .jpg format
-- Maximum dimensions in pixels: w=800 h=575 (dpi not important)

For those of you who do not yet have your art in digital format, there are several options:

  • An arts/graphics service: Pixel River (Mt. Lebanon) Alpha Screen Graphics (South Side), World West Galleries (Washington, PA) are three in the Pittsburgh area. If you're having this done, have the service do it at the highest resolution possible for your archives -- you'll want the "original" as well-defined/big as you can get for giclee or other prints. You can also have them provide a smaller image for the website.

  • Take a photo of your piece with a digital camera (the quality of the resulting image is dependent on the quality of the camera and the lighting setup).

  • If your 2D piece is small enough, you can use a flatbed scanner to scan your art.
